CAPSYS CAPTURE Document Import: Importing Batches with no INI

  1. In CAPSYS CAPTURE Process Manager, expand the Server Groups container item in the console tree, if it is not already open.
  2. Click on the name of the server group that contains the CAPSYS CAPTURE Document Import input source you want to configure.
  3. Under Input Sources, click on the name of the CAPSYS CAPTURE Document Import input source.
  4. Under Input Source Tasks, click Configure This Input Source to open the CAPSYS CAPTURE Document Import configuration dialog box.
  5. In Source Directory, enter a path to the folder that contains or will contain other batch folders you want to import. You can type the path directly into the field, or you can click the Browse button to locate the folder. If the folder is on the same computer as the CAPSYS CAPTURE Server, you can use a local path, such as, "C:\importfolder." In most cases, however, the import folder is not going to be on the same computer as the CAPSYS CAPTURE Service, so you must use a Universal Naming Convention (UNC) path, such as, "\\machinename\sharedfolder." Remember to share the folder on the network to allow a CAPSYS CAPTURE Server to access it by means of a UNC path.
  6. Select Import batches without an INI file. Refer to Configuring CAPSYS CAPTURE Document Import to learn more about this CAPSYS CAPTURE Document Import mode.
  7. Leave Document Type set to "‹None›," as it is not applicable in this mode.

To "stage" a document type so that it is selected automatically whenever a CAPSYS CAPTURE thin client user views a batch imported by this instance of CAPSYS CAPTURE Document Import, configure the batch profile you select in the next step to use the appropriate document type as its default document type.

  1. Select from the Profile drop-down list a CAPSYS CAPTURE batch profile. This batch profile will format the imported batches according to a particular CAPSYS CAPTURE batch class and capture workflow process. One CAPSYS CAPTURE Document Import input source instance can be associated with only one CAPSYS CAPTURE batch profile.
  2. Select whether or not to Import Images, such as TIFF, JPG, BMP, PCX and TGA file formats. CAPSYS CAPTURE Document Import will ignore image file types when this option is not selected.
  3. Select whether or not to Import Universal Documents. These are any non-image files, such as Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, and PDF files. CAPSYS CAPTURE Document Import will ignore non-image file types when this option is not selected.
  4. Select whether or not to prohibit CAPSYS CAPTURE Document Import from capturing a batch until it includes a specific file. If you select this option, enter the file name into the field provided. Remember to include the file extension in the file name.
  5. Select whether or not to Remove directory after importing batch. With this option selected, the folder representing the source batch, as well as all of the folder's contents, will be removed from the main source folder. Enabling this setting is a way to clean up the source directory and prohibit CAPSYS CAPTURE Document Import from re-import batches.

You may want to leave the imported batch folder, however, particularly if it contains files that were not imported. In this case, do not select the option to "remove directory," but select one of the options described below:

It is recommended that you always configure a source removal rule. If you do not, CAPSYS CAPTURE Document Import will re-import batches.

  1. Select whether or not to Backup batches to directory. With this option selected, CAPSYS CAPTURE Document Import will save a copy of the entire source batch to a different location of your choice. Use the Browse button associated with this field to select the backup folder. In the Number of days to keep backups field, enter the number of days that must pass before the backup copies are automatically purged.
  2. Click OK to save your changes.
  3. You must stop and restart any CAPSYS CAPTURE Services before your changes will take effect.
