Configuring a CAPSYS CAPTURE Server

Once a CAPSYS Server is assigned to a server group, you can use CAPSYS Process Manager to configure the CAPSYS Server's Service settings. The Service Settings are the same as those you find in the Services administrative tool in Windows.

  1. From the CAPSYS Process Manager, expand the Server Groups node in the console tree, if it is not already open.
  2. Click on the name of an existing server group.
  3. From the Server Bar, click on the name of an existing CAPSYS Server to drop down the Service Control Menu.
  4. From the Service Control drop-down menu, click Server settings to display the Server Settings Dialog Box.
  5. Make changes as required to the settings.
  1. Click OK to save the Service Settings changes.

Service settings changes will not take effect until you stop and restart the CAPSYS Service.

Quick Reference — CAPSYS Service Settings

Setting Name

Description

Server Connection

This is the name of the CAPSYS Database Connection (read-only).

Startup Type

You can configure three startup types for a CAPSYS Service:

  • Automatic — The service starts automatically when the system starts.
  • Manual — The service does not start automatically when the system starts. A user must start the service.
  • Disabled — The service cannot be started by the system or by a user.

Log On Using System Account

The CAPSYS Service will log on to the local system account. This is the default log on setting. It is recommended that you use this setting unless you want to specifically limit CAPSYS Service permissions.

Select Allow service to interact with desktop to provide a user interface for the CAPSYS Service on a desktop that can be used by whomever is logged on.

Log On Using a Specific Account

If you need the CAPSYS Service to log on to a special user account, select this option. Once selected, select the User Account user name and enter the accompanying account password.
