Adding a CAPSYS Server

Every Server Group needs at least one CAPSYS Server to drive cases through their predefined capture processes. A CAPSYS Server is a computer on which the CAPSYS Service is installed. The CAPSYS Service can be installed on the same computer that is running CAPSYS Process Manager and it can be installed on any other computer that CAPSYS Process Manager and the CAPSYS Database can access over a network.

You can add any number of CAPSYS Servers to a single server group. If, however, a computer running the CAPSYS Service is already added to any server group that is set up in the CAPSYS system, that CAPSYS Server cannot be added again.

  1. Run CAPSYS Process Manager.
  2. Expand the Server Groups container item in the console tree, if it is not already open.
  3. Click on the name of an existing server group.
  4. From the main menu on the Server Group pane, click the Add Server button.
  5. In the Add Server to Group dialog box that opens, click List Servers if your computer is connected to a network. From the list of detected computers (including your local computer), select one that is running a CAPSYS Service. Alternately, if the CAPSYS Service you want to add is installed on your local computer, you can enter its Computer Name directly into the field that is provided.
  6. When you have made your selection, click OK.

The new server's computer name displays when you view the server group in CAPSYS Process Manager.
